A thankful heart

There were ten men, consumed by leprosy and they all went to Jesus to be healed. Jesus did exactly that and healed those men! Nine of those men continued forward with their lives, healed. Then there was the one man. He was fully healed too, although only he went back to thank Jesus. We pray for a lot of things in our lives, because we know that God can heal us. But how often do we turn back and praise Him for it? Are we like those nine men that get healed and then forget about what Jesus did for us? Or are we like the one, who goes to Him to thank Him for all He has done? Too often we go to God with wanting, but seldom do we give Him the praise and gratitude that He so deserves. Everything good in our lives, is because of His goodness. Friend, as we go to God about the many prayers in our hearts, may we go to Him in praise just as much, if not more, for all He has done and continues to do. Ten men were healed, one took the time to offer gratitude, which one are you?

A thankful heart

Luke 17:11-19

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
