Sincere love

We cannot make people love the way we do
Not everyone has our heart its true
Though we don’t love just to get it back
We are to love them, despite the love they lack
God’s love has surely taught us
When He sent His Son upon that cross
Love is even loving at their worst
We love them, because God loved us first
Not because it’s easy or even deserved
Love is just something that we must preserve
What is life, if love isn’t shared
But shattered hearts disrepaired
Where is hope, if love not given
For through love we are forgiven
Love is the essence where life exist
So we must share it, we must persist
For everything we are comes from above
Through God who pursues us with His love
Maybe others won’t love, the way they ought
Though still love must be sought
For its amazing what God can do
With a love offered pure and true
May we love like Jesus, with sincerity
For that same love saves you and me
