Don’t offend

So many performers, hiding what’s underneath

So superficial, only skin deep

They make a habit to hide

Their inner goodness, is trapped inside

In society’s rules, culture’s taste

They lose themselves, just to stay in place

Why can’t we all live by, our Creator’s design

Being who, He had in mind

Don’t lose ourselves, lose ourselves

Just to fit in

We hold our tongue, hold our tongue,

As we accept sin

Don’t offend, Don’t offend them

Yet, we offend God

Bow our head, bow our head

With repentance and nod

In fear, some don’t stand up for what’s right

They bow down to the enemy, instead of fighting the fight

Fighting for truth, the good, for our King

As they begin to just accept everything

But what is love, if truth not said

When comfort is chosen just instead

What is comfort though, if it’s not real

Built not on fact, but instead on how we feel

What is peace, if just to compromise

Truth gets lost, honesty dies

Don’t lose ourselves, lose ourselves

Just to fit in

We hold our tongue, hold our tongue,

As we accept sin

Don’t offend, Don’t offend them

Yet, we offend God

Bow our head, bow our head

With repentance and nod

What is life, if saved not is our soul

What are we if not by God made whole

Without Him we cannot fully live our best

For He is the One who saves us from our mess

What is life, without eternity in mind

For truly we are all running out of time

Forever with our Creator, should be what matters most

Our Father, Son, and Holy Ghost

Too many worried, what man has to say

Instead of choosing to walk in, God’s way

Don’t lose ourselves, lose ourselves

Just to fit in

We hold our tongue, hold our tongue,

As we accept sin

Don’t offend, Don’t offend them

Yet, we offend God

Bow our head, bow our head

With repentance and nod

People are people, but God is our King

Be careful who we serve, who’s our everything

For do we choose our Savior, or do we choose man

Are we living for the world, or how He had planned

Do we care too much, with what the world has to say

Or do we walk in our faith and follow God’s way

For nothing better in this world can be found

But to walk with God, and to be heaven bound

Don’t lose ourselves, lose ourselves

Just to fit in

We hold our tongue, hold our tongue,

As we accept sin

Don’t offend, Don’t offend them

Yet, we offend God

Bow our head, bow our head

With repentance and nod

Don’t offend

Galatians 1:10 NIV

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Proverbs 29:25 NIV

Fear of man will prove to be a snare,
but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

1 Peter 3:14 NIV

But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”

Matthew 10:28 NIV

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Psalm 73:28 NIV

But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.

Psalm 27:4 NIV

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.

Psalm 84:10 NIV

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Psalm 63:3 NIV

Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
