Find some laughter

Sometimes you just have to laugh about it. When you knock over your water bottle and it goes all over, when your words come out wrong and you say something silly, when you overcook those cookies, you looked forward to in the oven; you know, things like that. There are things not to laugh about, things worthy of concern. Then, there’s times where we really shouldn’t allow ourselves to get so upset about the small stuff. Life has enough things that can concern us, may we learn to see the big picture and find some humor in the things that aren’t really a big deal. I recently had a day like this. By the end of it all I just sat back and started laughing. Even though those things may have irritated me in those moments, if I had watched it like a funny movie, I would have been laughing at the whole ordeal. So, I saw it from a different perspective and chose to see the humor in it, knowing those things really were not worth getting that upset over. Even quite comical, looking back. Friend, may we learn to laugh more. Not stress over things we shouldn’t. Theres’s enough things that can upset us, may we find as much joy as we can. Even if that means finding it in the little comedic annoyances. Today was a day filled with spills and messes, but my floor is cleaner than it was and I can find some comedy in it all. A sense of humor can help find joy, in those small things that vex us. I think of Jesus and I can see Him having a sense of humor, choosing joy where annoyance could be. Yeah, I think I’d rather choose laughter in such things.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
