Spoiled milk

Spoiled milk. Yup, that was the case recently. Fortunately, no one got sick, praise God! However, I had made some food for my husband’s work lunch, using this milk, that had gone bad. I did not realize this until my husband had already left for work with the lunch I had packed him. I had wanted some cereal that morning and it was then, that I realized the milk was sour. I called my husband and told him not to eat it, as it just wasn’t worth the risk. So, I decided I would go visit him at work and bring him a new lunch. One that wasn’t made with sour milk. Now, for those that don’t know, my husband works just shy of an hour from our home. Give or take, depending on traffic. Though I couldn’t let my hard-working husband go hungry for lunch, so off I ventured, with a new lunch in hand. I got there almost perfectly on time for his break. Though admittingly, this lunch was less fancy then the original. This was a simple peanut butter and honey sandwich with cheese crackers and a couple other small snacks. Which is a smaller lunch than the usual ones he has. However, he told me that same night, that it was the best lunch he had, had, in a long time. It wasn’t the food; it was the company. What started out with me being frustrated that the store sold me spoilt milk, made for a wonderful impromptu lunch date with my favorite person. I even packed myself a sandwich and ate with him. Our bellies were full and so were our hearts. Sometimes things can start out frustrating or difficult. Though at times, those very things, can lead to something great. May we trust God with the why, knowing that He has a reason on why He allows things to happen. We needed that little lunch date, my husband and I. My husband came home with a new gallon of milk today; this one was fresh. Though, maybe just this once, I am grateful for spoiled milk.
