Prioritize our family

The other day my husband had some things to get done around the house. However, our oldest son wanted to play a card game with him. My husband could have said that he had too much to do. However, he knew that time with our children was more important than getting some house work done. So, there we sat, around our dining room table, laughing, playing cards as a family. The chores would eventually get done, but this time with our children was invaluable. Friend, the enemy likes to keep us too busy. This can hurt family dynamics, which are so important, especially when raising our children. Chores are important, but in the getting of things done, may we not forget to prioritize what comes first; God, and family. My husband won the card game that night, but really, we all won surrounded by love and God’s gift of each other.

Prioritize our family

Luke 10:41-42 NIV

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Ephesians 5:15-16 NIV

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Psalm 127:3 NIV

Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.
