I look in the mirror
Say something’s not right
I could be thinner
These pants are too tight
There’s a blemish
And right on my face
My hair is a mess
It’s all over the place
Am I too tall
Am I too round
Always an imperfection
To be found
This world will judge us
Though we do too
We’re hard on ourselves
This is true
So many expectations
We put in place
Forgetting we’re made in His image
And we should give Him praise
For we are made
And we are designed
Just the way
God had in mind
I remember this and so I look in the mirror
And what do I see
But God’s child
staring back at me
In the mirror I am reminded
Though I often forget to see
That we are all created
So beautifully

Psalm 139:13-14 NIV
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Genesis 5:1 NIV
This is the written account of Adam’s family line. When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.
1 John 3:1 NIV
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
