In the Bible, Lot’s wife looked back. She didn’t trust God and what He had in store for her ahead. She was too caught up in her past, that her looking back ultimately cost her, her life. Now we might not lose our life from looking back at hard things in our past, but it can certainly stop up from having the life God has planned for us. For if we are living in the past, how can we move forward? Looking back in remembering good memories is a wonderful thing! The problem is when we look back on those in which were hard, and dwelling on them. We don’t allow ourselves to realize all the good God is trying to do in our lives. Friend, we all have a past, we all have been through some times in our lives that were not always easy chapters. Although we must be careful not to look back on them so much, we lose sight on what God has ahead for us. Lot’s wife looked back when God told her not to. She missed out on the life she could have had. Friend, may we trust God with our future and trust Him in what He has in store for us.

But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
Isaiah 43:19 NIV
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
