Letting go

My husband and I were working on a project the other day. We had to get something very heavy up our stairs, using pure grit and muscle. I went backward up the stairs helping to lift, as he went forward, with the brunt of the weight on his shoulders. Every step he’d tell me to let go of it, he had it. Though I had a hard time, almost every time, every step, letting go. I had to trust that he wasn’t going to let it fall. I was so worried, about him. I didn’t want him to get hurt. As I struggled letting go almost every step of the way, he kept reminding me that it was ok, he was ok. Bit by bit, we made it up our steps and we succeeded, working together. Me, having to learn to trust my husband, that he did have it. He was going to be ok. I can’t help but to think how often we are like this with God, especially when things are heavy. Learning to let go, trusting that God has it all worked out, that everything will be ok. We will succeed working together with Him. Friend, it can be so difficult to let go when we are afraid. Though we can let our burdens and things that are heavy fall into His capable hands. He is strong enough and He will carry us through. When my husband and I made it to the top, we were both exhausted, but we were also filled with relief, we did it. Praise God, we did it!
