Kindness

My husband and I were making dinner the other day. I stood there chopping up some bell peppers and started adding toppings to our pizzas. Then, he did the very thing that I wanted him to do the most, he grated the cheese. See, I love block cheese and I prefer it over the bagged cheese. However, I dislike grating it. Being that my husband knows I do not like this, he took it upon himself to grate the cheese. It seems like such a simple task, and yes, it is. Though it is one of those things I only do when I need to. Same goes for putting gasoline in my car. I can do it; I just don’t like to. I don’t like the strong smell and I don’t like having to just simply do it. One of my quirks I suppose. Now there are times where I do, but when my husband does that for me, it is much appreciated. There are other things that my husband will do for me, that I am capable of, but he does it just to be kind. Although I do kind things for him too. Like packing his lunches, having his work clothes ready and having dinner ready shortly after he gets home from work. We are a team and we try to work as such to make life a little easier. You know so many times I have witnessed God do kind things for me too. I could write a list if I sat down to do so, then again, eventually my hands would be tired from typing. Although I am also sure he has done things for me that I do not even know about too. Life is so much better when we have one another, working together as a team to make our lives even better. Though it sure is incredible having God and His goodness and His kindness. As we thank those who do kind things for us friend, may we not forget to thank God for everything He does for us. For surely His goodness helps us in this life. My husband will be home in a few hours and I look forward to cooking him dinner and I thank God for all that He has provided.

Kindness

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Galatians 6:10 NIV

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Psalm 107:8-9 NIV

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Acts 14:17 NIV

Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”
