Are we truly Christian

Am I Christian just enough, to make me believe

Or do I live like Christ is what I need

Am I surface level, or is my love sincere

Do I live as He calls, with love to adhere

Do I seek His word more than worldly things

Does He come first above everything

Do I think I am better than I truly am

Or do I love with helping hands

Do I act the role or am I the real deal

Do my words sound like Jesus only meant to heal

Am I skin deep or does my love come from within

Do I praise God daily for taking away my sin

Does my soul cry out every day

Do I go to Him and do I pray

Do I hear His word loud and clear

Or do the words come out and then disappear

Being human we can be so selfish, it is true

Forgetting our need for God, is nothing new

Are we on the fence, are we lukewarm

Do we only need Him when faced with harm

Or do we love Him no matter how things are

Do we love Him with a love that is far

Or do we hold Him close to our soul

Knowing He is God and He makes us whole

Tell me friend, where do you stand

Do you always walk with the Great I Am

Are we Christian, the way we ought to be

Oh God, You are what we need

Are we truly Christian

Psalm 139:23-24 NIV

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
