If you’re going to do something kind, or you have done something kind, don’t brag about it. I recently read something online; it was written by a man sharing about how he had helped someone in need. It seemed sort of haughty. Though it is great what he did, bragging about it makes me question his motives and intentions. When we do the right thing, we shouldn’t glorify ourselves, for doing exactly what God calls us to. Not to mention for simply just having compassion. I do not know this man’s heart, maybe it wasn’t his intention to boast. But we shouldn’t brag about our good deeds. If we are going to glorify anyone about goodness, may we boldly share of God’s goodness. Friend, may we do the right thing when no one is looking. May we share kindness from a place of love, not vanity. Compassion, not ego. Kindness, and being Christ-like as God is so very kind to us. For goodness done with a genuine heart, is the best way to exemplify God’s goodness.

True goodness
Matthew 6:3-4 NIV
But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Jeremiah 9:23-24 NIV
This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.
Matthew 5:16 NIV
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
