We have this used, old, well-loved couch that has gotten pretty worn. You may be wondering why we don’t just get a new one. The thing is, we don’t want a new one. This couch is a favorite around here. A place of comfort, rest, and from all the use over the years it has made the couch that much more comfortable. I am sharing this with you my friend, because sometimes we might feel worn like this couch. Beaten down, falling apart a little at the edges, old and worn. Though sometimes it’s the little imperfections that make us so uniquely special. So uniquely needed and important. We still have things to offer even if we don’t feel perfectly put together. Even if we are a little worn. God made us all so special and all with the ability to offer goodness in the world for His glory. Chin up friend, you are much more useful, important, needed, and special than you realize; just as you are. I look over at my son snuggled up on the couch, cozy and comfortable. He doesn’t care that the couch is old, he just cares how it makes him feel; safe, secure and restful. You too my friend are pretty great, just as you are.
