He knocked did we answer

Did we let Him in

Did we open the door

And let Him take out our sin

Did we sit down beside Him 

And let Him into our heart

Or did we leave Him knocking 

Hoping He would soon part

Did He make us realize 

The bad that we’ve done

Or did we confess to Him

Knowing He was God’s son

Did we sit on a fence near Him

Not knowing which way to land

Or did we walk in His path

As He took us by hand

Did we walk with our Savior

Did we let Him in

Did we confess with our mouths

All of our sin 

Or did we leave Him waiting 

And left things lukewarm too

Tell me friend, what did you do

I heard Him knocking

I wanted him in my heart

I said dear Savior, from me

Please do not part

Come in, come in

Can I stay with you for eternity

Oh Lord won’t you come and

walk beside me 

I got off that fence 

and I chose a path

To walk with my Savior

As He cleansed my past

He made me as white

As clean new snow 

And He walked with me always

As my faith did grow

Did we walk with our Savior

Did we let Him in

Will we listen to our God
