Do you ever just sit back and look at your life and think, “Wow, God is good!” Often times we get so used to what we have, we don’t stop enough to thank God for it. To really realize all that we have been given. As though our life and anything good in it, is just expected. Though all of the good, comes from His goodness, His mercy, His grace, His love. In human nature we often yearn for more instead of pausing in gratitude for what already is. I sat outside today at my house and I looked around. It hit me, gratitude. I don’t have the biggest house in my neighborhood; I don’t have the latest and greatest of everything. We don’t go on fancy trips. Though we do have a home, that feels like a home; safe, comfortable and fits us to a tee. To me our home is the most beautiful, because it’s ours. We have all we need, and I am tremendously grateful. We don’t go on trips, but we have many wonderful adventures. Though more than that, I look at all the great people in my life, and it is there where my heart especially feels blessed. I think of Christ and how blessed we all are, always, to be given the opportunity to be with Him someday. I have spent times in my life, where I was poor. Where things were very hard. Though even during those chapters I can see His goodness. I cannot say what my future holds, but I can say that God holds it. In that, I am blessed. We all are. Friend, look around and find your good, thank God for it. I finished the evening talking with my husband, with tears streaming down my face, as I thought of all the goodness of God and my heart is filled with gratitude for it all.

Gratitude
Psalm 103:2-5 NIV
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
James 1:17 NIV
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Psalm 66:1-2 NIV
Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious.
