Your hair is too thin, your hair is too thick
So easily insults come so swift and so quick
Your hair is too curly, your hair is too straight
Why does this have to be something we contemplate
Your too short, your too tall
We can’t seem to have it all
Your too thin, your overweight
Your posture is bad, stand up straight
You’re just a know it all, you’re not smart enough
Your much too weak, or much too tough
You’re too much, you are not enough too
Your stuff is old, or it’s much too new
Your clothes are messy, or there just too tight
Why can’t we seem to get it right
Nobodys perfect, yet, we often try too hard to be
Instead of saying, I simply like me
This world will try to invalidate
The way God makes us with perfectionisms hate
Though we forget that we are part of His design
With a purpose and a plan that He had in mind
If we try to live up to what this world wants from us its true
We won’t ever measure up; they’ll always want more from you
We must realize we won’t get too far
When we put ourselves down for the way we are
We are cared for with His love that supplies
And we are all special in His loving eyes
We must live the way that God calls us to be
Then we can truly say, Lord, I like me

Just the way we are
Psalm 139:14 NIV
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
