We talk about mother’s and their love, their impact, and their influence over their children. Which is an incredibly great one! Though, Fathers, are also so very important in their children’s lives. Each parent offering something different for their children. For the dads that show up, lead, and love as God has called them, it is a wonderful blessing to their children. Whether real dad, step dad, adopted dad, father figure; all are so essential in the rearing of children. Studies show that 85% of youth in prison came from homes with absent fathers. That right there shows how much fathers are needed. Most importantly, when a father actively practices his faith approximately 2/3 of those children will practice theirs when they become adults. Wow, that’s huge! Dads are so important! Though it also got me thinking about an even more important father; our Father in heaven. I don’t need a statistic to tell me how much better things are when we have Him in our lives. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world and not everyone has the opportunity for dads in their lives. However, we are all given the opportunity to have God in ours. May we take advantage of that opportunity! But for those dads that do show up as God has called, I want to wish you a very Happy Father’s Day. You are needed, appreciated, and so very loved by your children. I pray that all the wonderful fathers out there have a wonderful day today celebrating all that God has created them to be. I also pray that we celebrate God for all He is today and every day. For how cherished are both.

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
