Bright light

There was a person
Who wasn’t doing alright
In the darkness of pain
They searched for borrowed light
Can someone be their friend
Can someone just be kind
True goodness in their world
Seemed always hard to find
Then something happened
As they were learning to get along
A special friend came to them
His light was very strong
He helped guide them
And to walk with Him more true
Learning more about Him
And how to live for Him too
There was a person
Who wasn’t doing alright
In their darkness they saw God
Who shared His light
He took them from the shadows
Of all their hurt and pain
He renewed their strength
And gave them hope again
He was there through it all
Always the whole time
They just needed to reach for
The right light to find
To walk with Him always
To guide them along the way
Being guided by His light
They knew they would be okay
There was a person
Who once wasn’t alright
But by God’s grace
They were given light
Now they walk in it
This light in which He gives
Revealed through it is love
And in how to truly live
There is a person
Whose light now shines bright
By the love of God
Who makes all things right

Psalm 119:105 NIV

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

John 8:12 NIV

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
