He saved up the little bit of money that he had and was so excited to buy a cool toy. As we went into the store, we hadn’t made it very far before he saw something seeking money donations to help out those in need. He walked up to the donation and gave it everything that he had. For it was more important to him to help in what others needed, than what he had wanted. I was so proud of my son that day. It was a selfless choice, one that I certainly didn’t ask him to do. Friend, if God puts it on our hearts to give, we should. No matter how old or young we are. We are in this world together and we must help each other as much as we are able and when God calls us to. Though this was not the only time he has ever gave, I think back to that day fondly. He was so young and willing to love in a special way that God was calling him to. In turn, reminding me, that loving others starts right from the start. And that no matter our age, we should always have generous hearts.
