I have come to realize that we are not going to be, everyone’s favorite. Quite frankly, some people may just not like us, for reasons we may never know. Sometimes, for simply being us. Despite our kindness or our best attempts. It’s okay though. We just need to love them anyway and keep being our best selves, with kindness in our hearts. Though boundaries are necessary and important too. I have learned to focus on surrounding myself with those that build me up, help me be my best self and help me better walk with the Lord. It is in doing so, I watch myself continue to grow into the woman that God has intended for me to be. There have been times though, admittingly, where I have felt defeated and hurt by those whom didn’t like me. For reasons I don’t understand. In discouragement, I have told my husband that I feel like I don’t really fit in. My husband reminding me, good, I am not meant to fit in with this world. A reminder that none of us really should. We are called to be different, and to be like Christ. Admittingly, I am still working at being more like Him, but I can say, He is who I love the most. Though I too my friend need to be reminded at times, it is God’s opinion of us, not the worlds, that matters. That’s a good thing! May we walk with Jesus and be like Him, not like this world. May we pay no mind to those that are unkind. May we be who God called us to be, and not who the world wants or expects us to be. We don’t need to be the world’s favorites, when we are already God’s.
