We were not doing the best for timing, it was overly hot out, my husband and I were both over heated and a little cranky, and then it happened. Shortly before we had to leave somewhere, we had plumbing issues that left a mess for me to clean up. Great, just what I needed. My husband came running to help and even my oldest son contributed to helping. Great, now we’re going to be late. Two cranky grown-ups, a water mess in the bathroom, and still over heated. At least our oldest son thought the whole ordeal was pretty amusing. Looking back now that I have cooled off, it kind of is. Though not then, I let the mess get the best of me. In the end, we got it all cleaned up, we were able to cool down, and made it just in time to where we were going. It all worked out. Friend, life can be a little messy sometimes, can leave us feeling cranky and overwhelmed. Although, God has a way of working it out. I know why we were overheated, although I don’t know why our plumbing had to give us trouble. But what I do know is that God worked it out. We can be so caught up in our annoyances and when things don’t go our way, that we end up making them worse sometimes. Looking back, things could have been so much better, if I just paused and prayed. If I took the time to just breathe, we would have been a lot less cranky and the problem a lot less too. Friend, sometimes I can keep it together, other times, I am still learning. If you’re like me, may we practice the pause and go to God to help us and may we remember He works all things out for our good. I am cooled off now, the mess is cleaned up and I am left to reflect about it all. Yeah, I could’ve handled that better and honestly, it was a little comical.

Pause, breathe and pray
Romans 8:28 NIV
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
