Spread His love

We live in our own little worlds sometimes. We get so fixated on what is going on in our world, we forget other people have their own lives too. All of us having our own story, all just as important to God. We can be a little nearsighted and lose sight of compassion for those around us. I have even known presumably good people who struggle with compassion outside of their inner circles. It is often not intentional, and although we need to prioritize our own lives, we must still show compassion for others. I follow some local pages in the area and every so often I will read something quite awesome. There is an individual who will feed their family, and when they have leftovers, they reach out to the community to have the rest of their food, so they too can eat. I am almost certain these leftovers are intentional, as they also want to help feed those in need. Maybe they can’t feed everyone, but they can feed some and that is a wonderful thing. I also see things for free for people that may need it. Or even donating instead of selling things for profit. These are some ways to think outside of ourselves and be the hands and feet of God. Or maybe it is simply just being a little extra kind to others. Often, we rush around and we don’t show extra kindness. Holding a door, offering a smile, finding ways to be helpful. Although that gesture can mean more than we realize. Friend, I am guilty of this myself and need to be better. It is all too easy to get caught up in our world that we don’t take enough time to offer extra love and compassion to others. It also feels rewarding for us too. May we slow down and spread His love, for this world so desperately needs it.

Spread His love

Ephesians 2:10 NIV

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

1 John 3:16-18 NIV

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Matthew 25:40 NIV

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
