My grandpa was a man whose faith was very important to him. He didn’t grow up learning about God, but the ARMY changed things. He was always a good man, but he didn’t meet Jesus until he joined the forces and one of his fellow comrades introduced him to his faith. Ever since then he loved Jesus and then taught his loved ones to as well. There are many people that now walk with God because of my grandpa’s influence, and he got his influence from that man. I know that he was a kindly black man that had a great love for the Lord, that’s all I know. I don’t know his name, but I am grateful to him. I am also grateful that God put that man in my grandpa’s life and through that, a friendship was made and my grandpa was taught about Jesus. He went to serve for our country, although he served up more than he expected. He left the military serving the Lord. I watch my children love God and I know that the influence from a man I never met, rippled onto the man’s grandchildren in whom he taught about God. We must never underestimate the power of sharing the good news. Sharing about God our Father and what Jesus did for us on that cross. For sharing about our faith and teaching others about God and their salvation is the greatest and most loving gift we can ever give. It leaves a ripple effect that lasts beyond generations, sharing love in the deepest of ways. Friend, whether we tell a fellow comrade, a stranger, a neighbor, a family member, may we keep spreading the good news about God’s love.
