Worthy

My children and I went to a thrift store today. Both of them, each ended up purchasing a painting with their own money. My oldest loves to see the value in old things, paintings being one of them. My youngest simply loves art. As soon as we got home, my youngest went and hung the painting on his wall. My oldest could not find the worth online of his painting. Although he has a good eye and I agree with him, it definitely looks worth something. My youngest’s painting he got, was not even signed. I am guessing a local artist painted it at some point. Although to my son, he did not care. To him, it was a priceless piece of work. Paintings are unique in the way in which their value is placed. Though its beauty is often in the beholder, I have seen some beautiful work that maybe would not go for much. I have also seen some art pieces that were worth a lot of money and I did not see how. It is amazing how different people can place their opinions on what a painting is worth. Some in which have degrees in the matter; I would disagree with. That is the thing about us as humans, we see worth in things at times different. The hardest is when we see worth in people different.

Often as humans, we like to judge or form our own opinions about people. Some people will do that to us too. People will tell us or treat us to what they believe our worth is. However, friend unlike paintings, our worth is invaluable. God sent His son Jesus to die for all of us. He did not walk around deeming some of us more important or special. He deemed us all important, all special. All worthy to die for. Friend, when people try to place their own opinions on our value or our worth, remember; you’re a beautiful piece of art. So, no matter what someone else tries to label you as, you’re priceless. You are so very much loved by God. There is nothing more valuable than that.
