Forgiving when it is hard

We sometimes in our hurt, frustration or anger, have a tendency to not trust God to handle people that mean to do us or others ill-will. We lose sight that He knows all and will see that they are held accountable. The best that we can do at times, is to forgive and allow God to take care of it all. He is just, and can better hold people accountable, in ways that we cannot. Even those that do evil and manage to elude the law, cannot elude God. He knows all and He sees all. He is just and knows how to best handle all situations.

It is hard to forgive those that wrong us or others. But we must and allow God, to be God. The ultimate judge; who knows how to discipline appropriately and has this remarkable way of changing bad hearts into ones that He can use for His glory. Sometimes in that truth, that is only way how I can forgive those that I need to forgive.

Friend, may we choose to let God be the judge, may we ask for prayer to help us navigate the road to forgiveness, and pray for hearts meant for bad, to be changed for the better. May we not let someone’s cruelty, become our own. May we choose a major part of love called forgiveness. May we hate the sin, but love the sinner and let God do the rest.

Romans 12:17-19 NIV

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
