When the hair turns gray or shades of white
When eyes grow lighter, and change is in sight
When the body has not the strength it used to before
When time leaves us longing for more
More time with loved ones, more time to be better
Despite the seasons in which we had weathered
Like a flower that starts from a seed
Life giving us growth, and all that we need
As we grow, we began to bloom to our fullest potential
Age and time growing exponential
Until the time, where our petals start to wilt and fade
What remains is the beauty that was displayed
For as these cycles of time plays out
We have the chance to learn what life is all about
If we are so blessed to be given time to grow old
The privilege of watching a full life unfold
How did we live it, was it with a purpose in mind
For we never knew just how much time
We would have until we are called home
Did we take the time to be fully grown
In our faith, our walk with Him
Before our time came to an end
When our last breath was taken, whenever that may be
Was eternity in mind, did we live it for thee
Taking the time to love God as we should
While loving others the best that we could
For like a flower, we only bloom for awhile
Was sharing love and beauty our style
For when our hair turns gray or shades of white
Did we live this life, right?
