Sometimes I am humbled, for I am not as good as I thought

I realize that at times God, You, are not who I have sought

When my temper gets bigger than it should be

When I let my emotions get the best of me

When I am not as generous as I think I am

Or as helpful with doing what I can

When I just am not being who You have called

When I let Your goodness in me be stalled

Though with Your goodness I am made complete

So, I desperately fall at Your feet

Lord, search me, help me be more like You

In all I say and all I do

For I want to be better than I am

To live as You have called, as You have planned

For I am human is of no excuse to not be more

To be who I can be, who You had in store

More like You and like me less

Please help me to walk in my best

I am not as good as I once thought

Though things can change, when it is You, I have sought

So, at Your feet, I surrender who I am

To live by Your design, to live out Your plan

For this very thing I ask, Lord, so very true
