Losing a loved one is never easy. Even if we have had many years with them. We always want more. Though the beauty despite the pain, is that as believers, we can have more. For we have the hope of heaven someday and being reunited with them again. Except then, it’ll last forever and there will be no more goodbyes. I have lost a few loved ones within these last few months. Though I know that my goodbye with them is temporary and in its place is really, a see you later. Though in the meantime, it still can be hard as we wait to see them again. Though there is peace in the hope of heaven and comfort from the love of God. Friend, if you too are grieving may you hang tight to God’s promises and hold close to the memories of your loved one. For life is but a temporary journey and heaven a forever destination.

Hope of heaven

Revelation 21:3-4 NIV

 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

1 Thessalonians 4:17-18 NIV

 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
