We drove by a man coming down our road that I don’t know and I politely looked at him, smiled, and gave a little wave. As most of myself and my other neighbors nearby typically do. He looked back at me however not in a friendly manner and just continued driving past me. I am unsure if maybe he was having a bad day or maybe something was bothering him. I admittedly was a little annoyed thinking that his behavior was unkind, but decided I couldn’t let his behavior, become my own. Friend, sometimes it can be discouraging when we put ourselves out there with kindness and when its not given back to us. Though most people are kind back, it’s the occasional ones that aren’t that can be disheartening. Though we must choose to be kind anyway. We don’t know what that other person is going through, and maybe our kindness means more than what we think it does. Even so, it’s always better to choose it anyway. For just as God is so very kind to us. Even when maybe, we don’t deserve it. May we give kindness to others, even when it isn’t always easy.

Give kindness
Ephesians 4:32 NIV
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Luke 6:27-31 NIV
“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.
Colossians 3:12-13 NIV
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
