I didn’t know if I was going to be able to have a devotional for today. My husband and I got into a car accident last night on our way to get ice-cream. The sun had just gone down and we thought we’d have a little date and get our favorite treat. My husband with his triple peanut butter cup and me with my bubblegum ice cream. We were joyfully singing to a love song with the road ahead of us. Then, the unexpected happened. Boom, a large deer had run out in front of us, causing us to get into an accident! Our front end largely getting dented, as our windshield shattered open, leading to shards of glass all over us. My husband was driving and by God’s grace, handled it so well, having as much control of our car as possible through it all. We’re pretty positive our car is totaled, though this is unfortunate, we can’t help but to praise God. For by God’s grace, we, along with our dog, were completely okay! Aside from just being sore. A nice couple had also stopped by to help and to comfort us. Though what made this even more miraculous is that at the speed that we were going and the impact in which we hit the large deer, our air bags did not deploy. If they had, my dog and I would not have fared so well. Though there are times where airbags are beneficial, this was not one of those times. When the cop, as well as others, seen the deer and the damage, they were surprised to see us as good as we were. God really looked out for us. I’m not sure why the accident happened, but I am praising God for sheltering us with His protection. Everything could have been so much worse. God truly is always looking out for our good. Sometimes we don’t even know how much. Though as we sat covered in glass, we saw it. We saw His love and protection. His goodness. We walked away with only some sore muscles, despite the glass that covered our bodies. God truly is good. Friend, how blessed we all are to be covered by God.

Covered by God
Psalm 91:1-4 NIV
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
