Little treasures

I realized today that I have not really talked about a certain topic. It is definitely a heated topic, even among Christians. Though I know I must speak for those that cannot. I heard something that was alarming and devastating. It stated that 1/3 of deaths from those between ages 14-29, are from the result of abortion. Though I have heard some contradictions on exact percentages, I am sure the statistics are probably pretty close. This is heartbreaking to hear. That’s so many babies that could be here now, making a difference in the world. For every single baby has a purpose, value, and deserves a right to life. I believe in adoption, I do not support abortion. As Christians, no one should. There is so much biblically that supports this. In exodus, the ten commandments state that we are not to murder. In psalms, God says we are intricately created. Jeremiah states of a purpose for our life, before we are even born! Life starts at conception. We don’t become a human the longer we are in our mother’s womb. We are human from the very start. God loves us all, especially children. If someone takes the life of a woman who is even newly pregnant and she and that baby was to pass, it is considered double homicide. As it should be. Yet, if a woman chooses abortion of a baby in the womb, at that very age of that other child that passed, it is considered a choice. This is a horrible double standard. Friend, there are so many that have abortions all for many different reasons. A lot of women feel they have no choice or support, though there are many resources. There are also terrible situations that some women are in. My heart goes out to them, though ending their baby’s life is not going to make anything better. There are so many people out there that would love to adopt. There are also many programs that will help mothers that choose to keep their baby’s, but just need more assistance. I have also heard many stories where doctors encouraged abortions because the baby would be special needs. Sometimes the doctor was wrong and the baby grew and lived a normal life. There are a lot of resources to help babies too. Though those that are special needs are just as wonderful, filled with purpose, and deserve life too! Friend, if you or someone you love has already made this choice in the past, there is hope for redemption. This weighs heavy on my heart as all baby’s deserve a right to life. When God says that we are to love people, that included all of them, even the tiny ones that are growing in the wombs of their mothers. All babies, all children, are a gift from the Lord, may we all treasure them as such.

Little treasures

Psalm 127:3 NIV

Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.

Exodus 20:13 NIV

“You shall not murder.

Jeremiah 1:5 NIV

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Psalm 139:13-16 NIV

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
