Grateful for the seasons

I looked out my window to the birds flying around in the pretty bright blue sky. I could hear them chirping as if they too, we’re celebrating spring on the horizon. Though the air yet with a chill, the sunshine adding enough warmth as a reminder of the next season to come. When sunshine will stay longer, and will shine more, the trees will be filled with color and fullness, as the flowers make their debut. It has been a cold winter. The kind that though may have its form of beauty looking out at it, at times, can keep you wanting to just stay inside where its warm. Though winter with its own to offer, there is something beautiful when spring greets us again. Life can feel a little like winter at times, a little cold and not enough sunshine. Though there are still beautiful moments to be found in it. Though when spring comes and more sunshine appears with more color in the trees and flowers that appear with the joyful singing of birds, that’s my favorite. Friend, I suppose we may all have our own favorite season, for our own reasons. Though whatever season it may be for us, it is because that season brings us the most joy. I am grateful to God for all the seasons that He gives us, for each of them has something to offer. If we find ourselves in a season that we like least, hang tight, other ones are on the horizon and I am sure it will be great. I stare out my window, grateful to God for the sunshine.

Grateful for the seasons

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
