Grief

The other day my husband was driving as I played the music in the passenger seat. We were both feeling joyful and in a good mood. As we were listening to one of our songs, one little sentence was sung, that left me crying and sad. It was a part of the lyric that left me thinking about our unborn baby we loss. Just like that, the words pierced my heart and left me grieving again. We talked about it and I was able to think of my blessings and find some joy again. Grief can be like that sometimes. For grief doesn’t necessarily go away, we learn to navigate life with it, while still finding joy through it. Friend, grief can be hard, there is no denying that. However, I have found that when we seek God in it, He has a way of helping our grieving hearts. Also, talking about it with someone we trust too can be very helpful. For grief is always best navigated with God and if possible, a loved one too. Grief has no time limit here on earth, but for those who believe, we have the hope of reunification in Heaven someday with them again.

Grief

Revelation 21:3-4 NIV

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 NIV

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
