A young woman rushes out in front of a fast-moving train, though right before the train comes, she is held back. A man grabs ahold of her, taking her from the path of that oncoming train, as he wrestles with her, to save her life. This physical act reminding her that her life has value. I don’t know what brought the woman to that breaking point, where she saw that standing in front of a moving train was her only escape from whatever ailed her spirit. Though what I do know is that an act of love saved her from a consequence there would be no turning back from. I can’t tell you for sure if the man was someone she knew or a complete stranger, though does it really matter? What mattered was a life was saved. Maybe in this act she was later reminded of her life’s value. Life can be hard at times. Emotions can run high. Though when life seems more than we can handle, it is the love from God and others that remind us that things will get better and that life still has value, meaning, hope. When times are difficult it is God, it is love, that takes ahold of us, helping us to wrestle away the hurt that tries to steal our joy, our purpose, our hope. Friend, if you are going through a hard time, please don’t give up. You are loved, by more people than you realize, most importantly, by God. He created you; you have value from the moment you were conceived. Purpose, despite your circumstances. Hope, despite your hardships. May we all be reminded our life is meaningful and needed. May we all be reminded we are held by the Creator, Himself. May we also be the kind of people that pull each other back to safety and hold one another in hard times. Life is invaluable, indispensable. So much so, that Jesus died for us to give us eternal life in Heaven with God, Himself. We are loved, we matter, we are important. May we love each other and look out for one another. Just as God loves and looks out for us. We need each other, and we especially need God. I watched as the woman’s life was spared and I am praising God that it was. For every life, is meaningful.
