We had our day pretty mapped out. We thought we knew how it would go, and were looking forward to some special parts of it. Then, life unexpected. Though it wasn’t necessarily bad, it just was not what we had expected. Our day turned out different then we had planned. Sometimes life is like that. I think, generally speaking, as humans, we are planners; in our own ways. It is a good thing to start with a plan, but we must remember that sometimes those plans may change. I remember as a little girl we had some big plans as a family to go to Disney World. My parents saved up for a few years, as my brother and I waited patiently. Then, life unexpected. My parents had some financial things come up, that rendered us unable to go. I remember how much it broke my mom’s heart. Though my brother and I, we understood. We knew that our parents wanted to, and we also knew sometimes life happens. We weren’t mad or angry. We can plan all we want, and a lot of the times it works out. Although sometimes, God has different plans for us. Whether our plans are just different than we thought, or we feel disappointed, or sad, for not having them go our way, we can be assured that even if things look different, God is still in control. He knows what is best. So, when life unexpected happens, we just need to keep moving forward and trusting God, who has it all worked out. Today was different, but I can’t help but to feel peace in how today went. I know that God has a purpose for it, just as He always does. Maybe tomorrow will go exactly as I mapped out. But if it doesn’t, I trust the creator of the map that guides my life.
