In our yard, we have a yard sign that waves with the words, “Jesus loves you” on them. It was a gift from my best friend and it’s been up even all winter. It is somewhat smaller and attached to a small holder. Which makes what I am about to share with you, pretty awesome. See, this year, where we live, it has been a pretty wild winter, with a lot of days with a lot of snow and wind. There were days where the winds were so strong branches and even trees got blown over. Though not my little yard sign. It withstood it all, boldly. I was quite surprised by it. Then, I was amazed. For though the cold, the snow, the wind blew around it, it withstood it all, refusing to be blown from the holder in the ground. Those words refusing not to be seen. “Jesus loves you.” I think if it would have said almost anything else, it would have been ruined or blown away. It got me thinking that no matter what surrounds us, we can always know we are held by His love, and grounded in His care. That no matter what is happening around us, we can be assured that Jesus loves us. Friend, may we always remember that God’s love is unfailing and unyielding. That we are loved beyond what makes sense or we can comprehend. That if we stay rooted in Him, we can be assured we are protected by His infallible love. I look out my window and the yard sign stays above the snow reminding all who see it, “Jesus loves you.”

Jesus loves you
Romans 8:38-39 NIV
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
