One true God

If only we got that excited with hands waved up in the air

What if we got that excited, praising God everywhere

The stadiums sing

For their favorite team

Though are we praising God for everything

The stars walk in and people praise their name

They idolize and act like them and God are the same

The singing starts at a concert cross town

And the singer, not God, seems to take the crown

The Bible sits dusty on the bedside stand

While electronics seem to take the upper hand

Workloads, sports, and extracurricular seem to keep us in high speed

Sometimes to slow down and spend time with God, is what we need

This world is distracting and can alter the mind

As what is most important, seems hard to find

So many things that try to take us from Him

Are we letting the enemy win

Do we praise and love God, the way we say we do

Or is He second rate when revealed is the truth

This world can make us confused

And in its sin, can make faith abused

For it gets misplaced, when we put others where God should be

Instead of head bowed down, and to Him bended knees

For we go to others more than we do to Him

Clouded, misguided, distracted by sin

But only until we learn to put God first

Will things just continue, to bring out the worst

So, with hands held up in the air

May we put Him first and praise Him everywhere

Let us not let others or things take His place

For He is the Savior, our one and saving grace

Ask for forgiveness and pray and nod

And recognize there is only one, true God

One true God

1 John 5:21 NIV

Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.

Isaiah 45:5-7 NIV

I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me, so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.

Deuteronomy 4:35 NIV

You were shown these things so that you might know that the Lord is God; besides him there is no other.

Isaiah 42:8 NIV

“I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.

Exodus 20:4-5 NIV

“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,bbut showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
