My husband and I recently had the privilege and blessing to add another kitty to our family. We already have other animals, though we wanted to adopt a cat from the shelter. There are so many animals out there that need good loving homes to care, nurture, and love them. Not everyone is able to adopt an animal, for varying reasons, and some choose not to, and that’s ok too! Though we are all able to show kindness to God’s creatures and it is so important that we do. Whether we adopt, give money to help animals, or just simply be kind to them. God created them with a purpose! I will be honest; our animals offer a lot of love to our family too. Though it is also so wonderful to hear the wild birds in the trees, as silly squirrels scurry about and deer graze in our yard. All God’s creatures are so very special. Whether they are our pets, a loved one’s pet, or the wild animals that run about. God brought animals on the ark, because they are of value and they are also loved. God also calls us to care for them. Friend, may we show kindness to all God’s creatures! The big and small, the wild and domesticated, all the critters. May we respect them as God has called, may we show them kindness and love. For truly they are all special and of value, may we treat them as such. As I sit here, I think of all of our animals and I am so very grateful for them.

God’s creatures
Genesis 1:25 NIV
God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
Proverbs 12:10
The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.
