We baked some chocolate chip cookies. It wasn’t the easiest day for my youngest son. So, after spending some quiet time in his room, I asked him if he’d like to make some chocolate chip cookies with me. That’s exactly what we did and they turned out delicious! The smell of cookies wafted in the air and I could see that his evening was starting to look up. Sometimes we have those days that are sort of tough and we just need to find a little joy in them. Maybe it’s just a moment to ourselves to just simply be, maybe its spending time with a loved one or maybe its baking some cookies with someone you love. It is ok to stop, relax, and just breathe, to help us find that joy again. We’re not perfect, life isn’t perfect and its ok to just take a moment. May we go to God when things are hard and ask Him to help us find rest for our hearts and joy for our spirits. My youngest son and I ate some chocolate chip cookies and they were exactly what we needed.

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
