Recently, our car was stuck in our driveway from the recent snow fall. So as my husband took our other vehicle to work, I became determined to get our car freed from the snow. I bundled myself up in warm, winter, attire and went out with my shovel. I shoveled our whole driveway and throughout it worked at getting our car unstuck. I could hear the wheels spinning and the smell of exhaust spitting out. Yeah, our car was stuck! I put it in reverse; I put it in drive, and moved the steering wheel in different directions trying to gain some traction. I continued to shovel, eventually finishing. Here and there I would dig out some snow from underneath it. Finally, the driveway was completely clear and there was less snow beneath the car. So once again, I got in, praying that God would get the tires unstuck, freeing it at last. Then, before I knew it, our car was freed! Whew, what a relief! Feeling grateful, I drove our car safely in our garage.
Friend, if you have ever lived where it snows, I am sure at least at one point yourself, or maybe someone you know, has gotten stuck in the snow. Even in their own driveway! It is always such a happy moment when we feel those tires break free from the snows hold. It got me thinking that sometimes when things are hard, we may feel a little stuck out in the cold. We may feel like we can’t gain traction and our tires are spinning. We are left trying to dig our way through the mess, as we are praying for God to get ahold of us and pull us out. Though like cars that get stuck in the snow, we do eventually get out. Sometimes rather quickly, other times, it takes it a little extra work and time. Though with God, we can be certain that He is always hanging tight to us through it all. He will, in His way, and in His time, pull us out of the hard things that try to hold us down. Friend, hang tight, don’t give up, keep trying, keep moving forward, God is with you. He will get you unstuck and through it, and pull you to safety.
