His plans are better

I recently made some homemade broccoli cheddar cheese soup, using a recipe I hadn’t used before. One by one, I did each step; adding all the ingredients together. Then, it was time to let the soup warm up, the cheese to melt, and the soup to form the desired consistency. As I stood there waiting, stirring occasionally, I began to be concerned. The soup was seemingly not firming up and was looking too watery for the soup I was going for. I thought maybe the recipe was a little off and I should add more cheese to thicken it more. Then something told me to wait and give it more time. So, I did. Sometime shortly after the soup began to thicken and it started to look exactly how I wanted it. It turned out pretty good! I was glad that I didn’t add more cheese, potentially ruining the texture and the taste. I am glad I was patient and that I trusted the process. Friend, I share this recent cooking story with you as sometimes in life we do this. No, not just when cooking soup. There are times where we don’t follow God’s instructions and we get tempted to do things our way. In doing so, we can mess things up. Friend, may we stay patient and trust God and His plan. May we trust the process in life, even if we seem unsure how it’s going to work out. For God is faithful and when we follow His instructions and we wait for His plan, it always turns out better. May we not try to change God’s plan, but trust in His. For His plan, is always better.

His plans are better

Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
