Magnified beauty

My aunt had this fantastic magnifying mirror when I was a kid. It was fun to see myself up close. Until it wasn’t. For it wouldn’t be long until seeing myself so close made me see all my tiny imperfections. I’m sure I’d see more now that I’ve gotten older. I think in life we see ourselves that way. We look at all our imperfections and we’re hard on ourselves. We magnify our whole selves. Our weight, our height, our wrinkles, our hair, a blemish. We have so many beautiful attributes, yet, we seem to magnify the things we like least. We too often forget that we were created by God Himself. Each uniquely beautiful. Sometimes being our own worst critic. If the greatest artist created the most spectacular work of art, we wouldn’t criticize it. Yet, God is the greatest artist and we His masterpieces and we can be so critical at times. Friend, God made you in His image. With His awesomeness. Though we must not forget that inner beauty is first and foremost most important. God does start us out great; we get to decide the rest in who we will be in the inside. Though outer beauty, you already are. We can make healthy choices, but we mustn’t ridicule our design. So, when we hold up that magnifying mirror, may we magnify God, and all His goodness and thank Him for creating life. For you my friend were created by God Himself, with magnified beauty.
