Partnership

We got a good amount of snow yesterday where I live and we certainly got our share of wind. Our driveway became decorated with snow and in much need of shoveling. So, while my husband was at work I got bundled up, dressed warm, and got to it. Bit by bit tossing the snow to the side in a pile. Clearing our driveway as not to get stuck. Though I got about eighty percent done before realizing that I needed to head inside, warm up, and rest. Not too long after my husband came home from work, grabbed a shovel, and finished the rest. He didn’t need to be asked and he certainly wasn’t upset that I hadn’t finished it. He was just grateful for what I did do, and he certainly never asked me to do it. One thing, out of the many, that I so appreciate and love about my husband is his kindness and helpfulness with me. We truly are a team and our marriage is so much stronger because of it. How special it is when a marriage is built on partnership. Really living life together. Just as God intended, with Him at the center. Friend, may we remember to be there for our spouses, to truly work together with gentleness, care and love. For how wonderful it is when two truly become one, being there through life together in love.

Genesis 2:24 NIV

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NIV

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
