Something that I’ve been coming across lately are people posting scripture in their own words. A lot of the time it isn’t even at all what the Bible said. It is completely misquoted to fit their narrative. Mostly these are from people creating Christian pages. I wonder if they even read the scripture before just writing what they want. Or if they just have ill intentions. It is not a misunderstanding when you intentionally take scripture and change the words. There was no inspired by or something written and then scripture posted in exact. Even if it means something similar, the Bible should not be misquoted. For often it is a complete misquote or can sway people away from God’s true word and intention. In the Bible it warns against such things. Friend, know God’s word so you know His word, against the world’s. If something doesn’t sound right, verify it. Know His truth, so you won’t be misguided. For His word is truth and knowing it well will help us both here now, and eternally.

Revelation 22:18-19 NIV
I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.
Proverbs 30:5-6 NIV
“Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
