True faith

You can know scripture but not live by His word

You can sing praises, but not listen to what is heard

You can be giving but is it coming from the right place

Call yourself religious just to save face

I’ve met many who claim to believe in Him

But even the enemy believes and he is sin

They follow the masses and they follow His name

They don’t live for Him like it’s some sort of game

Always seeming to be on the fence

Always lukewarm, waiting for some sense

I don’t want that to be the person I am

I want to have a real connection to Him

I don’t want to just know the Bible

I want to live by His word

When I sing His praises

I want my soul to feel what’s heard

When I give, I want to give from the right place

I want to give whole heartedly while no one sees my face

I want to say that I know Him and that I know Him well

When I am asked, I always have the truth to tell

For anyone can say they believe, but I want to know

I want to walk with Him as my faith does grow

I want to be on His side and not sitting on the fence

I know that God is the right choice, He only makes sense

I don’t want to be a lukewarm Christian, I want to be with Him someday

If a plead came from my soul, here is what it would say;

“Lord, I want to walk with you

I want to do what you want me to

Because no one can take your place it’s true

Lord, I truly want to always be with you”

We as Christians must make haste

To ask ourselves, how is our faith

Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
