I love talking to those in which have lived many more years than myself. For in doing so, it is like opening up a special book filled with memories, lessons and tossed in, bits of wisdom. I have learned as I too am getting older that age has a way of humbling us and revealing a different perspective than the one, we once knew. Allowing us to see through different lenses, ones in which show us things we almost wished we knew and realized sooner. For life is filled with many chapters and seasons and it seems the longer we live the more things we learn through them. Admittedly, some are naturally a little wiser sooner than others. Also, not everyone gets wisdom even as they age, although most do. Though I have learned that there is something beautiful in it. I could sit beside the smartest person in the whole world, though if they lack wisdom, what can they truly offer me? Wisdom is a gift given to help navigate an uncertain world and especially a means to help us walk better with the Lord. God will always give us wisdom in His way, if we ask it. Like through years of experience or learning it from those in which have already learned much through experience. May we always seek wisdom out through God in prayer, especially in scripture and through others too. For the world and culture will try to say academic intelligence is most important, though it is not. It is nice and convenient to have. Although it is not everything. For His wisdom will always carry us farther in this life than just intelligence. May we go to God in prayer for it, read and study His word and maybe sit with the old for a while; for wisdom is truly a gift from God.
