I was reading something and someone had the audacity to insult God, in so many words. I could feel anger begin to set in and I could only imagine how Peter felt when He was defending Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane. Though He went about it wrongly, I understand the sentiment. I had to remind myself not to respond to the person and let God handle it; which is what I did. But oh, I wanted to scold that person, how dare they insult God! However, then I am reminded that though it is good to lovingly defend our faith, in these such scenarios, we need to remember God can take care of it better than we can. Also, reacting in anger won’t reflect on the goodness, grace, and love of God’s character. Friend, there are those that may insult our faith and insult God. Though as we boldly stand firm in our love for God, we must not react with the same meanness they have in our defense of Him. For God is just and He is God, may we stand back trusting He will handle it. In the meantime, may we just continue to act Christ-like and show them His love, in our reaction.

Let God handle it
1 Peter 2:23 NIV
When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
Romans 12:19 NIV
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
Psalm 37:7 NIV
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
