I spent this past weekend fighting a virus. I had stayed quarantined to my bedroom as my husband took care of me and managed our home. Though by Monday morning, after a rough night, I woke up although still under the weather, feeling much better than I had been feeling. My youngest son really wanted to play outside and I was at the point where some fresh air could really do me some good too. Ultimately, my other son joined us and while they played basketball I sat in my chair, barefoot playing ball with my dog. There was a slight breeze and the temperature was just perfect and I could hear some birds singing in the distance. The sun was out, but not too bright and I was blessed with a tiny bee landing on my phone and a yellow butterfly that came to greet a nearby dandelion. I watched my sons gleefully have fun shooting some hoops and my dog happily running about. It was just what we all needed; to be in God’s nature. I have often found over the years the healing effect of being outside. Friend, God has surely blessed us with the beauty in nature that He has created. May we not forget to spend time in it. For in doing so not only is it healing and necessary, but it has a way of bringing about peace and a closeness with God. That my friend, is a place to be, in nature.
