When my time does come

If the morning starts without me and my soul is left to rest

I want to know before I go, in this life I lived my best

I stood for God and lived for His glory

That my life was a reflection of a true Christians story

Though I know I’ve made my series of mistakes

I know through Christ, my sin’s He takes

If a new day begins with the rising sun

I want to know I lived life fully, until my time had come

That I went where He asked and I let Him lead

That He was my hope, everything I did need

That I taught my children of His mercy and God above

Guided them to walk in His grace and love

That the home we built, was more than a house

It was true love, within its walls my kids and my spouse

If tomorrow God’s plans were to rest my soul

Until the day He makes me whole

I want to know that the legacy I leave behind

Was praise be to God, whose so very kind

That anything good in me, was because of Him

His love, His guidance, His grace for my sin

If tomorrow God says my time has come

I want to know I lived it full, His will be done

For time is like an hourglass, running out at its own speed

Though God gives us all, exactly the time we need

The question isn’t how long we have

But did we live it for His behalf

For we know not when that time runs out

Though we are given the choice, on who we make our life about

We mustn’t waste it, we must make haste

Live life with a heart filled with faith

Someday we will all take our last breath

When our last sand falls, did for Him we live it best
