I was reading the Bible with my youngest son today and as we were reading I experienced a few aha moments. You know, the ones where everything starts to line up and make sense; where all the pieces start to connect. I love how God’s word is so symbolic and how every time we read it, we can always take something from it. I love how it makes more sense the more we read it and how we we can connect with it and how it can resonate with us in different ways as we journey through this life. It is the most beautifully and intelligently written book of wisdom, truth, hope and love. It is also the closest thing to a guidebook for life we can have and an incredible tool that connects us deeper with God. As I sat with my son reading it this evening we were learning together about God and His word. However, in that process we were spending time with God and bonding over His word together. I wouldn’t trade moments like these for anything. Friend, may we not forget the joy in reading and loving His word, the connection we have with Him while we read it, and the joy, we can experience spending time reading the Bible with others. For the greatest and most important book we will ever read is His word.
